Private Lessons

I strongly believe that every student should have access to private lessons, and should take advantage of the best teachers around them whenever possible!

I offer in-person lessons in the Chicagoland area (near Downers Grove and Lockport) and online lessons to students nationwide and internationally! I am happy to work with students of all levels, including neurodivergent students or those who just need a little extra help and time to understand concepts.

My students have participated locally in All-State/ILMEA events, performed at IMEC and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinics, graduated from the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative, and attended programming at Merit School of Music and the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. Students who went on to study music in college have matriculated to Interlochen Arts Academy, DePaul University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Temple University, Ball State University, and Northwestern University. Often, these students are able to attend summer camps/colleges with merit scholarships and, in some cases, have been awarded full scholarships to attend prestigious schools across the country.

Private Lessons for Middle and High School students come with the following expectations:

  • Weekly attendance is highly encouraged. Enrollment packages are approximately 15 lessons per semester, with approximately 8 additional lessons through the summer.

  • Parents and Students will work with me to follow a prescribed practice routine that requires daily practice.

  • You may have to purchase various equipment and resources/etude books.

Some Lessons Policies

Tuition: Tuition is based on the number of days in each month. Invoices will be adjusted to reflect the number of lessons to be taught. Rescheduling is strongly encouraged when conflicts arise; however, makeup lessons are not guaranteed.

Payments: Invoices are sent out on the 25th of each month. All payments are due by the first via cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal. Payments that are not received by the first of the month may result in a pause of lessons until payment is received in full.

Attendance: Weekly attendance is strongly encouraged. Excused lessons will be rescheduled at the teacher’s discretion. Make-up lessons are not guaranteed unless 48 hours’ notice is given to the teacher. To discontinue, pause, or change lessons, written notice must be sent via email by the 15th of the final month of lessons.

Tardiness: The instructor will wait one-third of the scheduled lesson before it will be considered a missed lesson. The teacher cannot go over the scheduled time limit. Instructor delays will not reduce a student's lesson time.

Absences: Student conflicts should be communicated by the invoice deadline. Late requests (excepting illness or emergency) are not eligible for rescheduling or refund. A minimum notice of 48 hours is required for any schedule conflicts or changes aside from illness or emergencies. If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the lesson will be considered a missed lesson and will not be rescheduled. No credits or refunds will be issued for any reason.
